Southern Energy Development Corporation Limited (SEDCO), subsidiary of M/s. Carborundum Universal Limited (CUMI), commenced its operation in 1999. The prime objective of the company was to meet the energy requirements of its investor companies which are part of the Murugappa Group. The company is currently operating a 5 MW, Natural Gas based power plant located at Nallur, Mannargudi (Taluk). The company is procuring Natural Gas from ONGC and generating power for captive use by various industrial units of its investors by wheeling the generated power to TANGEDCO’s Grid.
We believe that future is powered by new and renewable energy. Hence, the company pioneered the design, engineering, project execution, and operations in this field and provides low-carbon energy solutions to industrial, commercial, and residential customers.
